Coming at number 1 is the RCR 917. This 917 is based off of the iconic Porsche 917 which gave Porsche its first and second 24 Hours of Le Mans victory in 1970 and 1971. The original race car was powered by a flat 12 cylinder engine. This engine produced somewhere in the neighborhood of 1200hp. The kit is made by Race Car Replicas. The RCR 917 has a fiberglass body and an aluminum monocoque center with front and rear tube frames. This beast is even street legal! Common engine options include Porsche turbo or naturally aspirated 6 cylinders and Chevy Ls motors. However, Some customers have noted cooling issues with the Ls engines in this application.
